Investing in our Future
Midwest Dairy is invested in creating dairy advocates as well as developing the next generation of dairy leaders by offering scholarships to students who are from dairy farms or are studying in dairy-related majors. Scholarship eligibility and awards vary by state and region. In addition, Dairy Management Inc. offers checkoff-funded scholarships at the national level.
Scholarship opportunities are listed below, and Midwest Dairy employees, consultants, and their families are not eligible for Midwest Dairy scholarships.

See what is available in your state or region and to learn more about qualifications and deadlines:
- Illinois (Closed): Five $1,000 educational scholarship are available. Online application process must be completed by March 1, 2024.
- Iowa (Closed): Eleven $1,000 educational scholarships are available. Online application process must be completed by March 1, 2024.
- Minnesota: More than $3,000 in scholarships are available at the University of Minnesota CFANS, and two $1,200 scholarships are available at the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
- MoKan (Closed): Two $1,000 and eight $500 scholarships are available. Online application process must be completed by March 15, 2024.
- Nebraska (Closed): Three $500, two $1,000, and one $1,500 scholarships are available. Online application process must be completed by March 1, 2024.
- North Dakota (Closed): One $1,000 scholarship is available through the North Dakota State University.
- Ozarks (Closed): Four $750 scholarships are available. Online application process must be completed by March 15, 2024.
- South Dakota: Scholarships are available annually to students studying at the South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD.
Additional Scholarships
Dairy Management Inc. offers checkoff-funded scholarships at the national level. Dairy students are eligible to apply for their college scholarships.
National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDPRB) Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Up to eleven $2,500 scholarships are available to eligible undergraduate students (rising sophomore through senior) who are enrolled in a college or university program that emphasizes dairy. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and an interest in a career in a dairy-related discipline, plus demonstrated leadership, initiative and integrity. Candidates are expected to complete an application form, submit a transcript of all college courses and write a short statement describing their career aspirations, dairy-related activities and work experiences.

National Dairy Shrine Scholarships
Eleven scholarship opportunities are provided to encourage college and university students to pursue careers in dairy- or food-related majors. These major areas can include: Dairy Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Communications, Agricultural Education, General Education and Food and Nutrition. Awards are based on experience ability and interests in dairy/product marketing. Co-sponsored with Dairy Management Inc. Application Deadline is April 15.
