Step inside the barn to watch robots milk cows, see where cows live and more! This interactive tour is available for all ages and groups of any size.

Hours

Guided tours are held daily on most weekdays at 1 p.m. or by appointment. A reservation is required for all guided tours.

Robotic and Parlor Milking Viewing Areas are open 24/7.

Cows are milked with robots 24/7. Parlor milking times are 4 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The Beef Education Center is open daily from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Iowa's Dairy Museum is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Tour FAQ’s

What is the difference between a guided and self-guided tour?

The main difference is with a guided tour visitors are able to go inside the farm’s freestall, maternity and calf barns. If you’d like to pet cows and calves, this tour option is best for you.

Do you have flexibility on tour times?

Sometimes. Please remember we are a working dairy farm. If you are unable to visit during our scheduled daily tours, please call ahead to confirm availability as we might be able to accommodate your group.

How long does a tour last?

Guided tours typically last one hour. Self-guided tours are at your own pace.

What should I wear?

While you don’t have to worry about getting down and dirty with the cows, please remember that you are visiting a farm. We ask that you wear clothes and shoes that you wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty. Part of the tour will be outdoors so please check the weather before you arrive and plan accordingly.

How much walking is involved?

The guided tour consists of approximately half a mile of walking throughout the tour.

Are wheelchairs and walkers welcome?

The Parlor and Robot Milking Viewing Areas, Iowa’s Dairy Museum and Hall of Breeds are wheelchair and walker friendly, however, the farm tour includes unlevel and gravel surfaces. Call ahead to discuss accommodations.

Can I bring a stroller?

Yes, strollers are welcome.
